Photography has been my life since 2006 (!) and like every new photographer I shot all different types of sessions to gain experience and to see where I fit in a market where anyone could enter. Starting my journey with Lifetouch, I documented A LOT of families and kids. We were even starting to get into posed newborn sessions. I used my personal time and gear to capture seniors, weddings, and babies. After I got married I committed myself to a professional career in photography as we were planning to move frequently with the military. At our first base I mostly documented boudoir sessions and got a taste for newborn session in nature. My husband separated out of the Air Force and we settled around the SC/NC border where I put all my focus into newborn, maternity, and birth photography. It was my whole heart. My speed. My energy. 5 years into that I niche-d down even further into exclusively newborn session outside. I had found my art.

Something I've realized is I don't find comfort in routine. I find it in challenges and changes. I like feeling like I can adapt and overcome. So Solace Among the Trees was created, a brainchild of what it truly is about newborns in nature that I love so much and how I can apply that to other aspects of photography. And what I've learned is that I simply love the magic. The textures, the complimentary beauty, and the connection we have as humans to our stunningly, beautiful earth.

Maternity

Whether it’s a cozy in-home moment, a windy mountain gathering, or an artistic milk bath, pregnancy is a journey worth celebrating. Maternity sessions are for all pregnant people - including surrogates, adoptive parents, and anyone needing a safe, inclusive space.

Birth

Bringing life into this world is an incredible and transformative experience. By documenting the journey, we not only preserve the memory of each detail but also support emotional reflection and healing. Birth photography is storytelling in its purest form. Whether through photographs or video, it becomes something you’ll return to time and time again.

Fresh 48

Fresh 48 sessions offer a quiet, intimate approach. Held either at the hospital or in your home, these sessions beautifully document your little one just after their arrival. We use organic posing, and only the accessories you provide - keeping things simple, personal, and deeply meaningful.

Newborn

Little ones grow so fast that it's easy to forget all those tiny details from their first few days earth side. That’s why capturing those sweet, sleepy poses creates timeless photos you’ll cherish forever. A wide array of wraps, props, and unique accents to help style each session with intention and care are included.

Simply You

Simply You sessions highlight a single individual at any stage of life. Whether you're celebrating a milestone or a new chapter, these sessions are short and sweet but packed with an experience that’s truly yours. These sessions have limited use of props and other accoutrements as to focus more on what matters most - you.

Family

You’ve built an amazing life - let’s honor that. We’ll photograph this stage exactly as it is, creating meaningful reminders of moments that can easily be lost in the years to come. We build each family session around what feels natural to you - your rhythm, your connection, and the little moments that matter most.

Couples

Let’s make a memory - whether that’s exploring a location you love or doing an activity that brings you closer. These sessions are a collaboration where we’ll create images that feel both authentic and timeless. Couple sessions are for those who want to see their love story reflected through images that truly speak to the heart.

Divine Feminine

When it comes to your personal expression, freedom is everything. Wear what you want, be where you want, do what you want. You are strong, beautiful, and you deserve to see that reflected in yourself. Divine Feminine sessions are guided by intuition and energy. You may also choose to include a partner or an animal companion if it enhances your experience.

Companion

Pets are family - no matter how big or small. That bond and unconditional love deserve to be documented too. You can choose to have a session just for your pet, or we can focus on capturing the connection you share together.

Have an idea that's not featured?

I'm at the point in my career where I can do whatever I want. If you tell me a wild idea of something that sounds fun to me, I'm going to make it happen. You want to go find snow in the mountains? Who's driving? You want to swim in the ocean? I'll grab my water shoes. It can even be something small like a messy painting session or ice cream date night. I WANT to hear about the things that make you excited.

Now, I may not be a designated wedding, boudoir, or whatever specialty photographer because I don't have the support team or prep guides for it but what I do have is a voice to talk with you on what is and is not possible within my realm of experience and equipment. But I can tell you how we can come together to capturing a truly unique to you experience that meets your vision.
